The Community of Sant'Egidio is committed to friendship with the poor and peace worldwide. Sant'Egidio was founded in Rome in 1968. Over the years, it has become a Community of people of every age and from every situation in more than 70 countries around the world, with a special focus on those living on the periphery. Every year, Sant'Egidio organises unforgettable Christmas parties around the world for its poorest friends, including the homeless, prisoners, lonely elderly and refugees.
